Rocha Dance Theater will be participating in their first international performance in Azores, Portugal this September, an opportunity that Jenny Rocha is particularly excited about, as her family is from Sao Miguel, Azores. With the support of a grant from the US Embassy in Lisbon, Jenny will lead a 5 day workshop for students ages 13-18, teaching a modern technique class and setting a section of Battledress. At the end of the week,  RDT will perform a trio version of Battledress at a local theater called Teatro Ribeiragrandense. September 17th-21st, 5pm-8pm located at Teatro Ribeiragrandense Register online HERE Workshop Description From September 17 – 21, Rocha Dance Theater’s artistic director, Jenny Rocha, will conduct five 3-hour workshops at Teatro Ribeiragrandense, teaching students ages 12 – 18 modern and contemporary dance. In addition to teaching technique, Rocha will encourage dancers to find their own creative voice through movement. She will collaborate with the students, creating a new dance as part of her work Battledress.
